Random Thoughts on a Fridgid Friday.
Greetings from the North, where temperatures have once again plummeted into absolutely unpleasant new depths. A cursory glance at my phone in the elevator revealed that my walk to work would be conducted in -21C temperatures, with shining sun and clear blue skies on hand to completely confuse my senses and leave me to feel that if it wasn't so fucking cold, it'd be a lovely day to be outside. But then a gust of wind hit me and literally knocked the air out of my chest, causing my sinus' to empty onto my scarf, and immediately freeze. Fuck this.
- I have to go to Boston next week. Boston, where they've had over 7 feet of snow fall. Boston, where the public transport network has been shut for a month, and might not reopen for another. Boston, which this article rightfully calls a disaster zone. For all the whinging about the temperature in NYC, it's NOTHING compared to Boston. Those guys are in a bad shape, with no break in sight.
- While making breakfast this morning at work, I caught a few minutes of 'Charmed' on TV. Remember 'Charmed'? Nope, me neither. But late 90's/early 2000's Alyssa Milano might be humanities high water mark in terms of being super hot and wearing crop tops.
- I just watched a trailer for a new Jean-Claude van Damme film called 'Pound of Flesh', where JCVD wakes up in an ice bath after having his kidney stolen, and then goes FULL RAMPAGE to get his kidney back. At one point, he grabs a woman by the throat and growls 'Where's my kidney?' Polish the Oscar now.
